Interview With A Dog Walker:

May 1, 2018

Get to know top dog walker/pet sitter extraordinaire , Cesilee Mazza, as she answers the most asked questions:

1. What made you choose to be a dog walker/pet sitter?

I never thought about dog walking as a job, but happened to fall into it. It quickly proved to be a perfect fit for me because of my love of dogs!

2. What is the best & worst parts of the job?

The best part of the job is the moment you walk into someone’s home and you’re greeted by a wagging tail and happy face. There is nothing more rewarding than being accepted into a dog’s pack!

The worst part of the job is saying goodbye at the end of the visit - that happy face quickly turns into disappointment when they realize it’s time for me to leave. I wish they could understand me when I tell them their family will be home soon!

3. What experiences have you had as a pet sitter that were memorable?

I’ve made so many amazing memories over the last four years working as a dog walker/pet sitter! I’ve had a hundred pound golden retriever fall asleep on top of me, I’ve turned my head for five seconds only to turn back around and see a dog on the dining room table! One can never know what will happen when working with animals, but that’s what makes everyday new & exciting!

4. How many pets have you cared for at one given time?

The most amount of pets in a single home that I’ve taken care of was six cats. It’s so amazing to experience all of their different personalities…. while trying to keep them from stealing each others’ food!

5. What have you learned from being a dog walker/pet sitter?

I have learned so much from this job. I have always had experiences with dogs at home, but I have learned so many different breeds & their habits, how to give different medications, tricks to get them to walk, and a lot of responsibility. I have learned a lot from the job itself and so much from the families I work with!
